It was later introduced to the US, at first it was not at all popular in the casino's. In an effort to increase the games popularity and draw more players into the games, casino's began offering various bonus, the more popular of which was a bonus for players with an ace and a "black jack", the bonus system did its job and was eventually given up, but the name Black Jack stuck.
