The Brief

This event at Hinxton Hall was designed as the evening entertainment for a corporate conference group, giving guests a chance to
relax, socialise, and enjoy some competitive fun after dinner. With no other entertainment running, the casino needed to carry the
later part of the evening and provide an engaging focal point for the group.

The Setup

The casino was set up in a private room known as The Green Room, separate from the dinner area. This worked well as
a dedicated breakout space, allowing guests to move naturally from the formal dining part of the evening into a more social and
interactive setting.

Before the casino opened, one of the company managers made an announcement after dinner to let guests know the tables were ready,
helping create a clear transition and encouraging immediate participation.

The Atmosphere

From the moment the casino opened, the room was busy and energetic. The overall feel was described as
very busy with a competitive edge, which suited the corporate crowd perfectly. Background music was kept subtle,
allowing the games and guest interaction to remain the main focus.

As the casino was the only entertainment of the evening, it quickly became the main attraction and very much the
highlight of the later part of the night.

Guest Engagement

Both tables were well used throughout the session, with Blackjack especially packed all night. Guests did rotate
between the tables to an extent, but the demand remained strong from beginning to end.

Roulette was also consistently busy, while Blackjack saw players queueing to get on, creating the sort of lively, competitive
atmosphere that works so well at corporate events.

Most guests already had a decent grasp of the games, so the evening got up to speed quickly. This made for a smooth, confident
flow of play with very little downtime.

Competition & Prize Element

The casino was run as a competition, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening. Branded money featuring
the company logo helped reinforce the event’s corporate identity and made the casino feel bespoke to the occasion.

There was one clear overall winner, who finished on $1,500, although three prizes were handed out in total.
The prizes were particularly fitting for the audience: replicas of the company’s road machines.

Food, Drink & Event Flow

Guests enjoyed a pre-entertainment dinner and dessert before moving through to the casino. Drinks were generous and informal, with
buckets of beers and wine helping keep the atmosphere relaxed and social.

Importantly, there were no breaks in the casino, which meant the energy never dipped and the room stayed active
right through until midnight.

Business Networking Benefits

As well as entertaining the group, the casino also helped bring people together in a natural and enjoyable way. This was especially
valuable in a corporate setting, where informal interaction can be just as important as the formal conference programme itself.

The games encouraged conversation, light competition, and movement around the room, helping support
business networking in a relaxed environment.

Venue & Client Feedback

Feedback from both the client and the event company was extremely positive. They were said to be
really impressed with the overall service and how successful the night was.

Venue staff were also surprised by how engaging the casino proved to be, especially given that the room had been just an empty
space before the tables were installed. Once set up, the casino completely transformed it into a lively entertainment area.

Guest feedback after the event was described as great across all tables, and based on the success of the evening,
it seems very likely that similar entertainment would be booked again.

Why This Event Worked So Well

  • Dedicated private room gave the casino its own identity and presence
  • Strong post-dinner transition with a manager-led announcement
  • Blackjack and Roulette created broad appeal and constant activity
  • Competition format added excitement and purpose
  • Branded money and themed prizes tied the casino neatly into the company event
  • Excellent networking value by helping guests relax and interact naturally

premium but approachable atmosphere, gives guests something genuinely interactive to enjoy, and helps turn a standard post-dinner
