Casino MK: a gambler’s paradise in Bucks
Buckinghamshire is not traditionally associated with casinos; in terms of glitz and glamour Milton Keynes is about as far removed from Monte Carlo as you could imagine.
But things are changing in the region and MK is now home to a casino that can rival any of those of MC. There might be fewer Ferraris parked out the front, but the play is just as high stakes.
Casino MK, which opened last September, is one of the latest super casinos to hit the UK and is the largest of its kind outside of London.
On the gaming floor are 108 slot machines, 17 poker tables, 76 electronic live gaming terminals and four sports betting terminals. – enough to keep even the most avid gambler interested.
Roulette, Blackjack, Three Card Poker, Punto Banco and Super Wheel are among the table games on offer at the venue, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Suffice to say it is a gambler’s paradise for the Home Counties. But as with any form of casino games, it’s not just about having a punt; its about creating an exciting and enticing atmosphere in which to hang out with friends.
Back in September 2013 when the casino opened to the public, general manager Nigel Hartland explained how the appeal of a casino is about far more than just gambling some spare cash.
He said: “Almost half the people who come here will do so to relax with friends or family in an adult and relaxed atmosphere and we absolutely welcome that.”
One lucky player even won an Audi Q5 worth £40,000 in a prize draw to mark the opening of the venue.
“We wanted to do something big to celebrate our very successful opening in Milton Keynes and you can’t get much bigger than giving away a brand new car,” says general manager Nigel.
While hiring a poker table or roulette table for an evening does not come with a brand new car, it certainly helps to generate the kind of buzz and excitement you would associate with a super casino.
You’ll also find that helpful staff that accompany the tables are just as informed as the croupiers in the big casinos, so your guests will be able to have a flutter and enjoy themselves even if they’ve never gambled before.
And it should probably work out a lot cheaper for your guests – unless you plan on running a charity casino event and charging for fun money.
