Raising money through a casino night

Charities are always on the look-out for ways to raise money but it can be hard to find something that gets the funds coming in. Shaking a can in a street can rustle up a few pennies but it’s a tough way to raise serious money.

Whether you’re a charity worker or you’re looking to raise some dosh for a special cause, a casino night could be the answer.

We see lots of different organisations, community groups, schools and sports clubs hiring casino tables.

Poulner Infant School Association recently raised a whopping £1,500 at its recent Casino Fun and Auction night, according to the Daily Echo. Meanwhile, Stepping Stones DS, which helps parents of children with Down’s syndrome, is among a number of charities in the north-west finding that a casino night can really help to raise cash for the good cause.

What do I need for a charity casino night?

Depending on the size of your event, you’ll want a few casino tables to get things started. It’s best to have a choice of different games, so you can maximise your revenue earning potential.

Roulette is probably the easiest and most straightforward game. It’s also great for lots of people so you can get a whole gang of guests around the roulette table.

Blackjack and poker are fun games, but they do require a certain amount of skill. With the casino tables you get an experienced dealer however, so they can keep everyone on the straight and narrow.Craps tables are also worth a go as they will be something a little bit different.

Remember why you’re doing this – to get people to have lots of fun but to spend a bit of money in the process. Anyone who is lucky enough to end the night ‘up’ should have the good grace to hand it back.

To collect the dosh, you can either charge for a ticket and hand out chips for the games; or allow people to buy chips on the night, You can always do both.
